Residential Facility

Residential Placements Through DDS

Thornfield Hall is first and foremost a small, private residential facility licensed by the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Because every bed is filled through the DDS placement process, openings are extremely rare and only DDS referrals can be considered when they occur. Although we don’t advertise or accept direct applications; if you are interested in more information regarding residential openings, please complete the link below and someone will follow up with you.

Thornfield Hall is primarily a small, residential facility serving individuals through placements coordinated by the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS). Because our availability is extremely limited, all placements must come directly through DDS referrals. We are not able to accept private admissions.

If you’re interested or have questions about our residential program, please notify us so we are aware of your interest — but note that all admissions must go through your DDS caseworker.

We work closely with families, volunteers, and local organizations such as NEPS, The ARC and the Center of Hope to supplement existing services and fill the gaps with love, experience, and innovation.
